About Us

Kolby Hine and Courtney Cerra worked on a side project together that led Kolby to abruptly ask, “You want to do this? Go into business together?” Without a second thought, Courtney agreed. Kolby and Courtney worked together at a previous company and already knew how to work well together; they knew they both loved the job itself and were proud of the work they were creating every day. This whim decision provided instant excitement, drive, and was the perfect match from that moment forward. Both Courtney and Kolby hit the ground running contacting friends and family to see what work they could gather. With just a simple social media page and word of mouth, Kolby and Courtney became KC’s Custom Home Renovations, with a full schedule of projects!

Courtney is a wife, mother of two, and dog owner. Her career started in French education, but she quickly realized she was not happy and wanted to do something she was more passionate about. Courtney loves the beach, camping, reading, and working out. She can be found watching Suits, Pretty Woman, or any reality television show. The current song on her playlist is “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, and her all-time favorite artist is P!nk.

Kolby is a devoted dog owner to a black labrador named Bellatrix. He started his career at Berks Career and Technology Center in High School for Painting and Decorating. When painting houses the summer before University, Kolby decided that they already found their career of choice and decided to stay in the trade. Kolby can be found outside whether cooking with friends or camping near a lake. He appreciates all different types of music with a special appreciation for Hard Rock and Country. Kolby can also be found watching Harry Potter while probably building one of his many Harry Potter LEGO sets.
